Should I get a computer update?

#1
So I build my pc back in 2007:

HD 5850 OC
Q6600 OC (3.2ghz)
GA-P35-DS3R motherboard.

I wanna swap these with:
HD 7950 http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Mini...e=UTF8&qid=1355277470&sr=8-1&keywords=hd+7950
I5 3570K http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Core-i5...&ie=UTF8&qid=1355277508&sr=1-1&keywords=3570k
GA Z77X UD3H http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Cros...32&sr=1-1-fkmr0&keywords=GA+Z77X+UD3H

Would this make any approvement in my Battlefield 3 experience?
I play with most settings on ultra. Although I don't see much difference between high and ultra.

For gaming only take i5 3570k no extra fps because extra threads but if you do some video editing extra threads from 3770k will help I have 3570k and I was testing bf3 on stock than 4.2ghz and 4.4ghz and no extra fps because of overclocking this cpu oc very well even on air

In middle of January - im going to order a new AMD system... Im a AMD fan because they are 1/2 the cost of Intel chips - and have slightly lower performace then the top i7.

Thanks for the info. I'm planning on getting the 3570K because I don't do heavy video editing. Just some amateur photoshopping.

Good to know this processor is overkill for bf3. It will make me happy in the future ;) Any advice on a videocard?

Thx Koz, haven't even thought about AMD to be honest. I'll look into it.

6 cores more expensive but more future proof, in gaming no extra FPS, video editing, coding etc. 6 cores for sure :) I'm happy with 4 cores because I do only gaming and some small video editing using Sony Movie Studio HD and its fine, overclock is nice and stable, I got mine up to 4.9Ghz on AIR but temps are little too high :) I managed to boot and do some small testing on 5Ghz but for 24/7 usage its too much vcore. :) I can bet that on water I can hit 5.2Ghz :)

i totally agree with your mainboard :) i use the same and it rocks! from there you can add corsair doninator gt ram and yes...your video card is very good and in time maybe worth upgrading...but do you really need to now? i think not :)
cheers :)

just thought i would add...the cpu is fantastic! i am using the AMD Phenom 1090T and value for buck Intel cannot go near them...your choice is brilliant and i will be upgrading with that soon...like yourself i also have a thermaltake case however the one you have chosen is nothing short of the best of them all! you will love that case (my brother has one) just make sure the power supply is a thermaltake TP of at least 1000w and nothing could better that either... (man its fun spending someone elses money) lol :D

Hmmm witch video card should i take?????? 670,680??? 2Gb or 4 GB???? and the cooling i will add water to air

personally i would not choose ASRock....the video card buy the most expensive one you can afford my friend :) 4gb of ram is great but expensive....most 2gb are good but 3gb is a happy medium :) whatever the case...the most you can afford is the best :)
